Better Beauty: Hyaluronic Acid
Hyaluronic acid (HA) is natural substance in our skin that keeps moisture in and keeps our skin hydrated. This substance decreases as we get older. So this ingredient should be the cornerstone of your anti-aging skin care routine. There are injectable fillers that use HA. When looking for a product that you apply to your skin, look for products containing hyaluronic acid or sodium hyaluronate the levels should be between 1-2%. More than this can actually be drying to your skin instead of plumping.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Products containing HA can vary widely in cost. Some products contain HA that contain molecules too large and are unable to be absorbed, therefore, not increasing hydration. So look for products that ensure safety and testing because they contain truly active ingredients. For a safely formulated serum or night cream (two of the products I recommend having HA in them for maximum effect) typical cost to consumer is going to run $50-75 a product.
