Anticancer Tip:
Cinnamon is a readily available spice that is being studied by the medical community because of its positive health attributes.
Cinnamon is loaded with polyphenol antioxidants and is considered a super food. Antioxidants protect the body against free radicals that can cause oxidative stress, which can lead to cell and tissue damage.
Cinnamon is also anti-inflammatory. Our body needs inflammation to fight infections and repair our tissues. But when inflammation is chronic our healthy tissues can be affected.
Cinnamon can also increase cell’s sensitivity to insulin and lower blood sugar levels and this helps prevent weight gain and diabetes.
For these reasons, cinnamon is not just a holiday spice. Let’s eat it all year long!
